CONTEMPORARIES

With the advent of aggressive marketing in the late 1980s, the face of perfumery completely changed. Arguing that the future in a more and more competitive industry would be best assured within a huge and financially fit group, in 1994 Guerlain decided to join forces with the multinational luxury company LVMH. Since then, in order to reach the widest possible audience, the brand has increased its number of annual fragrance releases to more than a dozen, catering to different target groups with three different lines: Patrimony, Exclusive, and Contemporary (the latter often called "mainstream"). The listing below, which includes both exclusive and mainstream fragrances, consists of personal favourites only and is far from comprehensive.
