A SECOND ARITA PORCELAIN BOTTLE: FALL FLOWERS

For the second time, Guerlain collaborates with Arita Porcelain Lab in Japan, creating a porcelain bottle inspired by the 1912 heart-shaped stopper bottle. This time, the bottle comes with a new stopper design which resembles a flower. Sadly, despite the beautiful hand-painted decoration, the flower stopper adds an outdated flea-market look to Guerlain's timeless Art Nouveau bottle, as if the original stopper had been lost and replaced with whatever one could find.

The bottle contains a new EdP fragrance called Fall Flowers, described as a luminous gardenia and tuberose composition. Guerlain has already issued one tuberose fragrance this year, namely Joyeuse Tubéreuse, which, by the way, didn't smell much like tuberose.

For this Arita bottle edition, Guerlain has decided to double the price from last year, now reaching 650 €. By contrast, an exquisite Arita sake bottle can be purchased for US$120. Image of Guerlain's new Arita bottle by Haute Parfumerie Place Vendôme in Belgium.
